We started out flying to Austin, then roadtripped to Dallas and ended with the final show in Houston. Fun for sure..
Our first challenge that we encountered was getting to the plane. With only 30 minutes left, David and I had to get through a security line that was wrapped around the whole terminal. There was no way we were going to make it – so we literally asked every person that was in the line to skip them. With 10 minutes left to take off, we were on our way to Austin!
…Arriving in Austin the first thing we did was get some yummy BBQ. They are not kidding when they say everything in Texas is bigger..I mean I think I consumed more meat in a weekend then in a whole month.I really liked this place called Rudy’s, which was actually at a gas station, and David kept making fun of me for it but ohh boy was it delicious.
Later that evening, the boys and I made it down to 6th Street where they were playing at Darwin’s pub. It was the first show of the tour and I really liked the energy of the Austin people at the bar. They were really supportive of the band and it set the presence for the rest of the tour.
After the show the boys and I drove halfway down to Dallas to end up at a camp where we stayed the night..
Stay tuned for more thngs in Texas to come.
